| Module Aim(s): | The
module aims to introduce general aspects in the
facility management of buildings. It also
enables students to explore in a variety topics
including (1) basics of facility management; (2)
fundamentals of space planning and management;
(3) components of occupancy costs; and (4)
procurement and management of support services. |
| Learning Outcomes: | On
completion of this Module, students are expected
to be able to: 1. explain the development of facility management and its impact on the facility management; 2. plan and organise resources for achieving facility management functions; 3. apply techniques for space planning and management in workplace; 4. evaluate the occupancy costs and their significance in whole building lift cycle; and 5. apply the knowledge of contract procurement and management to building support services. |
