Functions
Piezometer
The function of a piezometer is to check the pore waterpressure of the soil belowa water seal layer. The purpose of this is to prevent the built-up of water pressure which may cause settlement of area.
Standpipe
The function of a standpipe is to check the underground water table. The purpose of this is to prevent the wash-away of soil. Re-routing of the ground water will be acted if there is a major change in water table.
