    Module Aim(s): This module aims to develop student’s ability to prepare and interpret construction drawings and equip students with the skills of using an engineering communication medium to develop a foundation for understanding complex building plans. It also provides students with knowledge of computer-aided design techniques for construction drawing with respect to building services engineering and enable them to use AutoCAD as an engineering communication medium in order to carry out building design tasks efficiently and effectively.
    Objectives: On completion of this Module, students are expected to be able to:
    1. define and make appropriate use of drafting and design terminology;
    2. present an object or product with drawing by basic sketches, orthographic projections and working drawings;
    3. apply drawing standards and conventions of building services engineering to construct the conventional representation of engineering features, common engineering abbreviations, dimensions and symbols;
    4. apply computer aided design techniques to produce 2D drawings;
    5. produce simple building floor plans and engineering details using AutoCAD; and
    6. produce simple 3D wireframe geometrical models.
