    Module Aim(s): The module aims to provide an understanding of the building related legislation, code of practices and related responsibilities of various fire services, and their relationship to the design of fire services systems in buildings.
    Objectives: On completion of this Module, students are expected to be able to:
    1. articulate the responsibilities and roles of an engineer as defined in the building related legislation & regulations, and code of practices related to the fire services systems
    2. select and justify options in the design of water-based fire services systems;
    3. design simple fire services systems for active fire protection; and
    4. compare various design options and examine passive fire services protection systems.
    Assessment Methods: • In-class test (15%)
    Laboratory work (10%)
    Examination (60%)
    Mini design project (15%)
