Phase 1a (Carpark)

Hong Kong Science Park, Phase 1A is the first stage of the key infrastructure development at the reclaimed lands from the Tolo Harbour, intended to be a substantial undertaking to Hong Kong's advancement as a regional hub of high-tech innovation.

The carpark building provides number of parking spaces on a 9 levels and a place for other ancillary plant ares e.g. roof top satellite dishes and central automatic refuse collection plant.

Vehicles circulate on a loop movement with the center ramp in the middle which provides a clear up and down inter-floor circulation.

For easy accessibility, car park building is connected via a lightweight footbridge to the 1F office lobby of Building 1&2. Building facades area treated with double layers of depth yet without hindering the natural cross ventilation : Punch Holes on north and south sides, and deep perforated louvers on east and west sides.

Phase 1a (Core Building - Building 1&2)

Hong Kong Science Park, Phase 1a is the first stage of the key infrastructure development at the reclaimed lands from the Tolo Harbour. The Phase 1a consists of 2 connected core Buildings and a central car park building.

The 3 buildings occupy the central area in the "Core" of Phase1 and serving as the backbone of the Park. The two six-storey buildings provide approximately 23,230 square meters of gross floor area of office area and ancillary facilities, including exhibition spaces, conference facilities, retail units, restaurants, hotel and fitness & recreation facilities.

The design approach is to create a central focal space which encourages the interaction of people within a humane and environmental backdrop. Sustainability design is a key element; the buildings make use of double-skin facade to reduce the heat and noise transmission from the road and photovoltaic panels to provide renewable energy.
