14.6 Lighting Fittings II
Down Light
Description :
Recessed type downlight c/w 1x18 PLC lamp. Aluminium and andoised reflector with matt silvery finishings. Control gears, capacitors and all necessary accessories.
Locations :
Entrance Lobby, Gallery, Conference Room, Laundary, Lift Lobby
Uses :
Downlights is used to give general lighting. It lends itself to centralized and possibly, automatic control. It is favourable for places where activities are interactive and moble, e.g. entrances and galleries ...... etc. Besides calling for general lighting, these spaces will have occasional supplements for display or at any fixed staff work position. In T.T.T. Building, the gallery space is supplemented with track light for display of exhibits. This may add visual interest to the users. Downlight is usually used as ceiling lighting. It alone is simplest to install. In T.T.T. Building, the downlight light used is of recessed type. These enclosed recessed luminaires are wherever dust and moisture make rapid contamination of the reflector and lamp likely, and where long maintenance intervals are desired.
Effect :
Being a downlight, the ( BZ ) polar curve which shows the distribution of intensity in candelas has has downward parabolic shape. Downlight gives general lighting which creates amenity, i.e. a pleassant and adequately-lit environment. This is achieved by having a pleasant general illumination of interiors.
Ceiling-mounted Fluorescent Light
Description :
1200mm ceiling mounted fluorescent lighting fitting c/w 1x36W energy saving tubes, control gears HPF capacitor and all necessary accessories, incorporated with false ceiling.
Location :
Lift lobby, Lounge, Lecture room, Lavatory, Space Reception.
Uses :
They are used for large light output for energy-saving tube, luminaries for indoors and outdoors making important objects or surfaces visible in the dark or with low lighting. They are also used for additional marking of hazards or as parts of an emergency lighting system.
Effect :
The light is discharged out through a parabolic way.
