| Module Aim(s): | The
module aims to equip students with fundamental
knowledge on fluid mechanics for further studies
of hydraulics and hydrology, and to develop
their analytical and problem-solving skills to
enable them to handle problems related to fluid
mechanics. The module focuses on developing
students’ scientific reasoning and professional
competency through handling real-life problems. |
| Objectives: | On
completion of this Module, students are expected
to be able to: 1. solve hydrostatic and fluid flow kinematics problems for practical applications in hydraulics structures; 2. identify different types of fluid flow and their characteristics for dealing with fluid mechanics problems; and 3. perform dimensional analysis for problems in fluid mechanics. |
