Arrangement of the industry-based student
project
- Study
topics and supervision:
- Students
may select the topics proposed by the academic
staff and should contact the potential
supervisor to discuss the details.
- Student
may propose his/her own study topic and should
identify a suitable academic staff to supervise
the project study. The student should contact
and discuss with the potential supervisor to
fine tune and confirm the study topic.
- All
the students should confirm the study topic and
supervisor on or before 21 Apr 2017 (Fri).
- Meetings
between the student and supervisor will be
arranged by themselves. References will be
specified or provided by individual project
supervisors.
- Two
research seminars will be held to provide
guidance on research study skills (including
literature study and methodology).
- Project
study process:
- 1. Research
and Planning: information research,
literature survey, development of project plan
and work schedule
- 2. Project
Implementation: theoretical study,
experimental work, hardware and/or software
where appropriate, critical appraisal and
analysis of findings
- 3. Project
Reporting: record of work/activities,
progress and learning reports, formal written
project report, oral presentations
- Assessment
components:
- Reflective
Journal: 15%
- Presentation:
15%
- Final
Report: 70%
