The 6,100 sq m project comprises more than 130 functional rooms to conduct a wide variety of laboratory tests. The edifice also provides support and ancillary facilities including sterilization. Incubation and cold rooms for the laboratory services, conference and seminar rooms plus a multi-function hall. Costing HK$647 million. The project has enabled the department of Health to house most of the Pathology Service labs under on roof, thereby enhancing efficiency and productivity by optimizing equipment usage and staff resources.
