19.2 Chillers
Heavy chillers are placed on the rooftop, as the effects of vibration can be reduced by siting them in an area where the disturbance is not very critical. Chillers sit on top of spring isolators and I-beam which, in effect, works like anti-vibration pads, stopping energy from being transmitted into the building structure.
