Building Envelope

The openings of the Building are limited to minimum to reduce energy consumption for air-conditioning, while the deep roof overhangs helps limiting the amount of direct sunlight entering the building.

The timber screen wall helps to reduce heat transmission into the building, thus, reducing solar heat gain inside the building. The wall of the buildings are constructed in brick blocks which act as solar mass to absorb extra solar radiation and keep the building interior cool.

The above features contribute to a high energy efficient building envelop. The total envelop Overall Thermal Transmission Value (OTTV) is 4.32 W/m2, which is far lower than the Government standard requirement, 35 W/m2 for hotel and office buildings, 30 W/m2 for tower block and 70 W/m2 for podium.
