Introduction
Buildings are
significant users of energy and materials in a society
and they have a large impact on the natural environment
and resources. To reduce energy use and greenhouse gas
emission, it is very important to promote building
energy efficiency and sustainable building design. In
urban cities like Hong Kong, building energy use
constitutes a major portion of total energy consumption.
It is believed that the potential for energy saving and
improvement of building environmental performance is
large.
