related disciplines, or candidates in other
disciplines with relevant working experience.
- Planned
Programme Launch Date: 1 September 2019
- Remark:
The Programme is applying for formal accreditation
by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of
Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ).
The PD-BIM Programme
aims to provide in-depth advanced knowledge
of the principles and practices of BIM and
to develop technical and strategic planning
skills for BIM project planning and
implementation in different professional
disciplines and technical areas. The
Programme will focus on BIM applications for
lifecycle planning and management of
building, construction and infrastructure
projects, with effective design modelling
and analysis, productive construction
coordination and visualization, efficient
cost estimation and management, holistic
asset and facility management, and
sustainable building design and operation.
Students will learn a holistic approach to
virtual building from design and
construction to maintenance, operation, and
sustainability.
Programme Objectives (POs):
- PO1: To
provide in-depth knowledge of the principles
and practice of building information
modelling (BIM);
- PO2: To
develop technical and strategic skills for
BIM project planning and implementation in
different professional disciplines and
technical areas;
- PO3: To equip
students with a solid knowledge and
understanding of BIM for lifecycle planning
and management of building, construction and
infrastructure projects; and
- PO4: To
develop students’ ability in effective BIM
technology applications and innovation at
advanced professional level.
Programme Learning Outcomes
(PLOs):
- PLO1: Apply
the principles and practice of building
information modelling (BIM) in the building
and construction industry;
- PLO2: Utilize
technical and strategic skills for BIM
project planning and implementation in
different professional disciplines and
technical areas;
- PLO3: Develop
BIM solutions for lifecycle planning and
management of building, construction and
infrastructure projects; and
- PLO4:
Demonstrate the ability in effective BIM
technology applications and innovation at
advanced professional level.
