Waste Control

A park-wide central Automatic Refuse Collection System (ARCS) is installed under Phase 1 buildings which links all buildings for normal refuse and recyclable waste collection.

The system consists of a dual vertical chute design system which separate normal refuse and recyclable materials. Every floor of the buildings is provided with dual outlets, waste materials are transferred through vacuum tubes connected to the central refuse collection point via underground service tunnels. Discharge valves are controlled with an automatic control system so that the refuse and recyclable material collected at the bottom of the two vertical chutes will be transferred to different storage containers by suction sequentially.

The system is sized to cater for the total amount of refuse for the whole Park estimated to be 2 tons per day for normal refuse and 7.5 tons per day for recyclable materials. In such a way, the whole refuse collection process is clean, hygienic, labour saving, odour reducing, compact and requires less transportation and disposal at public landfill site.
